With extensive expertise in the reconstruction of the urinary tract, female urology, and urinary incontinence, Dr. Grafstein brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our patients. He is especially renowned for his treatment of male post-prostatectomy incontinence, using innovative and minimally invasive techniques.

Dr. Grafstein is one of the few urologists in the nation with advanced training in adult male urethral reconstruction (urethroplasty) for stricture disease or trauma. His reconstructive expertise also includes continent urinary diversions, pelvic floor reconstruction for female pelvic organ prolapse, and the repair of genitourinary fistulae. His clinical practice spans both neurological and non-neurogenic voiding dysfunction, making him a leader in treating complex urological conditions.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Grafstein is a prolific contributor to the field of urology. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles, textbook chapters, and instructional videos, and has lectured at prestigious academic institutions on topics such as urinary incontinence, urethral reconstruction, and continent diversions. His scientific contributions have earned him recognition and awards from the American College of Surgeons and the American Urological Association.

Dr. Grafstein received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center College of Medicine, completed his residency training in urology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, and pursued advanced fellowship training in reconstructive urology at Duke University Hospital. He holds board certifications in urology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, making him a standout in his field.
