Breast Surgeon

Do you want a multi-specialty clinic that you can go to for general health and surgery? Look no further than EMU Health Services. If you need breast surgery, Dr. Darren Sachs is the one to assist you with both general and oncological breast procedures. He will handle your breast surgery needs with professionalism and care as he covers many related issues ranging from implants to cancer reconstruction.

Disease

If you are showing signs of breast-related diseases like cancer or other abnormalities, Dr. Sachs can perform a biopsy. This procedure involves removing a small tissue sample for examination to reach a correct diagnosis. In most cases, it may involve a thin needle to extract fluid, a core needle to remove tissue, or surgery to remove a lump.

Patients diagnosed with the BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation or have a history of breast cancer may elect to have a prophylactic mastectomy as a preventative measure against the disease. After a mastectomy or removal of a large breast lump, Dr. Sachs can perform breast reconstruction through implants, flap reconstruction (which uses skin, fat, and blood vessels from other parts of the body), or a combination of both.

Some women may have lumpy and painful breasts that are non-cancerous, but instead result from hormonal changes. This condition is referred to as fibrocystic breast disease, which Dr. Sachs can diagnose with imaging tests and fine-needle biopsy. He can also help you if you have nipple discharge that may result from infections, duct ectasia, endocrine issues, or a sign of cancer.

Other diseases he can diagnose and do surgery for when necessary include:

  • Resection of Lymph Nodes
  • Breast Calcifications
  • Breast Mass
  • Fat Necrosis
  • Mammary Duct Ectasia
  • Breast Implant Issues

Some women may have issues after getting poor implants and need implant removal, scar tissue removal, or implant replacement. Infections, implant rupture, or tissue hardening around the implant may require surgical intervention from Dr. Sachs. When you come in for a consultation, Dr. Sachs will review your breast implant surgery alternatives. However, if you have breast implant illness (BII) that causes joint pain, fatigue, and other problems, removal may be the only solution.
