About EMU Health

Queens is the most diverse urban area in the world and home to two and a half million people. Yet, its residents are often frustrated by fragmented and inefficient health care. Why? Because that’s just the way things have always been. EMU Health was founded by Daniel Lowy with a simple idea- to provide doctors in Queens with a better way of doing business, so they can provide the best care to their patients.

EMU, Efficient Medical Utilization, is the realization of that idea. In 2016 EMU went to contract on its second Ambulatory Surgical Center and has now has expanded to create a Management Services Organization (MSO) to help support doctors in private practice. By identifying business efficiencies, medical practitioners can focus on providing every patient with the highest quality healthcare possible. EMU is moving healthcare forward to benefit every resident of Queens.

What we do

EMU Health is a MSO focused on ambulatory health in the borough of Queens.   The MSO is focused on creating and executing sustainable business plans for Physicians and Health Care related businesses.

EMU Health’s core competencies include Operations Workflow, Strategic Leadership, and Financial Management.   We maximize the physician-to-patient relationship without compromising its integrity, and provide practitioners with access to expert business guidance.

Why we are different

EMU health is singularly focused on building health care businesses in Queens. Further, EMU believes in partnering with practices and groups, not purchasing them.   The difference is that we respect and value the independent practitioner, and are focused on supporting them to create a business foundation that provides stability, insight and opportunity.
